A delegation from WSTA meets the Bahraini Energy Minister
A delegation headed by WSTA President Dr. Waleed Zubari and Board member Eng. Mohamed Qamber, Eng. Ali Redha the Executive Director and Dr. Abdulmajeed Alawadhi member of the Advisory Board met his excellency Dr. Abdulhussain Bin Ali Mirza the Bahraini Minister of Energy in his office on Tuesday 10th February 2015.
The meeting touched on several topics related to the water situation at the local and regional level and the challenge facing the GCC States to ensure the sustainability of the water sector. In addition the meeting discussed updates on the Consolidated Water Strategy Study for the Gulf Cooperation Council, which is hoped to be completed in the coming months.
The delegation Also briefed HE the Minister on the Association’s desire to hold its next conference ” the 12th Gulf Water Conference” to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in year 2016, where the last conference “the Eighth” was held in 2008. following that, the 9th Conference was held in Muscat In 2010, then the 10th in Doha in 2012, and finally the 11th in Muscat in 2014.
The request was welcomed by His Excellency the Minister Mirza, who expressed the willingness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to host such scientific event noting the importance that the Government pays to the vital subject of water. The timeline of the conference will be determine in a later date.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ahmed Bucheery, Manager of the Minister’s office.
