Special Sessions

MDGs-SDGs Transitional Process and its Implication on the Arab Region
The conference will present an opportunity to highlight the upcoming crossroads of the global development agenda. The year 2015 is the target date for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and at the same time it is the start of a change in perception and commitment on water within the various proposals for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The MDG+ initiative will be presented as part of the wider scope of the position of water in the post 2015 global/regional development agenda. The regional perspectives on the global MDGs-SDGs transitional process and its implications on the Arab region will be presented and discussed. The session will be organized by UN-ESCWA.
