A Message from WSTA President
My Colleagues and WSTA Guests
Welcome to the Gulf Water Science and Technology Association (WSTA)
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am delighted to welcome all members and visitors to our newly designed website. WSTA aims to serve its valued members and attract those interested in various fields of water science to join us as active partners in this pioneering Association.
As a Non-Governmental Organization and the first of its kind in the Gulf Region dedicated to water science and technology, the Association remains committed to addressing water issues across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. We continue to serve as the region’s voice in major national and international forums, working alongside our partners to elevate water issues to the top of the region’s political agenda.
Regarding our upcoming major event the “16th Gulf Water Conference”, scheduled to take place during May 2–5, 2027, in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, the preparations are proceeding at a rapid pace. We are exerting every effort, in collaboration with our organizing colleagues in Muscat, to ensure the event’s success. This comes at a time when the region is witnessing a significant shift in awareness regarding the importance of water and its role in socio-economic development, as well as the need to address water scarcity adaptation to achieve desired sustainability.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind all visitors and friends that the membership of the Association is open to anyone interested in water issues, whether within the GCC or anywhere else in the world. Membership is also open to relevant national and international organizations, educational and research institutes, experts and consultants, and companies operating across various sectors of the water industry. We invite you to join us and share your ideas, perspectives, and experiences regarding this precious resource “WATER” wherever you may be. You can do so via email or by participating through the social media channels on our website.
Best wishes to all our fellow members and our esteemed guests.
